Bryan Box
Bryan Box served two tours with the U.S. Army in Afghanistan. Now, he works in forestry in Wisconsin’s northwoods. In 2019, Box wrote the essay, “Ghosts Of War In A Wisconsin Forest” for The New Republic, depicting his struggles with PTSD and the healing potential of the northwoods.

Jana Rose Schleis is a M.A. student at the University of Missouri School of Journalism. Previously, Jana Rose worked at Wisconsin Public Radio for five years as a Production Assistant, Producer of “The Morning Show,” and finally Network Producer for The Ideas Network.

Deshawn McKinney is a writer proudly reppin Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His work is steeped in hip-hop and is a means of exploring liberation and the delicate balance of existence. His debut collection of poetry, “father forgive me” was released in February 2021 by Black Sunflowers Poetry Press.
